| Subscribing
to HDTV programming from your local cable company is a great
choice for many people, depending on who your local cable
provider is and the HD channels they offer. You may
already have cable lines run into your home. Then all you
need is an HDTV cable box, which you
can usually rent from the cable company with your monthly cable
bill.
IF your HDTV-ready
television is Digital Cable Ready (DCR) and includes CableCARD,
you may not need an HDTV set top box for digital cable
reception. Be sure to check with your local cable company
for CableCARD compatibility and availability. Two-way interactive
services such as Program Guides, Pay-Per-View, or
Video-On-Demand services will most likely still require a
separate digital cable box. |
